This place is also famous for its controversial neon art. It is said to be the largest arena in the world by the volume along with a wooden dome. The architectural work for the Tacoma Dome was done by the international design winning architects, McGranahan and Messenger Associates. The arena underwent a major renovation in the year 2018. It is under the ownership as well as operated by the City of Tacoma. The arena was opened to the public on April 21, 1983, bearing a construction cost of $44 million. The capacity of the venue is 5,000 – 23,000, which is distributed as follows 20,824 – Indoor soccer, 20,722 – Basketball, 19,106 – Hockey, and 10,000 – American football. The site is a multi-purpose arena which is adjacent to Interstate 5. The Tacoma Dome is located at 2727 East D Street, Tacoma, Washington, USA.
